Poor UK work-life balance

A UK epidemic of long hours, stress and poor work-life balance is undermining attempts to improve job quality. The CIPD’s UK Working Lives Survey found poor work-life balance was a problem, with many admitting their job made it hard to switch off and caused disruption to family life.
Fighting obesity stigma at work

Employers must do more to fight obesity discrimination, including prejudicial practices in recruitment. The Institute for Employment Studies (IES), said obesity has reached “epidemic proportions” and employers need to enhance workplace practice in this area.
Wellbeing should be a business priority

The British Safety Council says employers should place wellbeing at the top of the executive agenda. The Not just fresh fruit: wellbeing at work review advises on creating workplace wellbeing programmes and recommends that employees should participate in their development.
